End-point assessment – What is this?
Once an apprentice has completed their apprenticeship, they will be ‘signed off’ by their employer/ provider as ready for end-point assessment of their knowledge and practical capabilities. In most cases, the assessment will be graded and must show the apprentice is fully competent and productive in the occupation. This is conducted by an external independent body.
End Point Assessment consists of:
Work based project submission
Presentation; question and answer session based on your work based project
Portfolio of evidence
Please note, to complete the CIPS Certificate element of the qualification, you will be required to sit and pass exams relating to each of the topics.
CIPS Qualification Cost
If you choose to study through an apprenticeship, your employer can access up to 95% of the course cost, or pay in full via their apprenticeship levy. This means that students can achieve the prestigious CIPS Level 3 Certicate without any cost to them as an individual. (Annual CIPS membership costs are excluded and can be paid by the learner or their employer.)
If your employer has a payroll of over £3m per year, they can pay for your course in full using their apprenticeship levy. If they have a payroll of less than £3m per year, they can access government funding for 95% of the course cost. The remaining employer cost to pay per learner is £300.
