Duration:60 hours over 10 weeks
Timings:Runs one day a week, from 9:30am to 4:30pm, across a 10-week period. The timetable includes regular breaks and a set lunch break to keep you refreshed and focused throughout the day.
Study Modes:Fully online, group-led training and coaching sessions that incorporate a range of interactive activities to keep learning engaging and practical
Qualifications and Level:Certification of completion from Fareport Training & The Skills and Business Hub
Entry requirements:

This opportunity is open to employed individuals. To apply, you must be a resident of Berkshire and at least 19 years old by the 31st August 2025. Applicants must also have the legal right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK continuously for the last three years.

We’re looking for individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for leadership and management, and a strong commitment to building their skills through this Skills Bootcamp.

Cost:If you live in Berkshire and the business you work for has between 1 and 250 employees, 90% of the course cost is funded by The Skills and Business Hub. Your employer will need to fund the remaining 10% (£288 per participant). For larger organisations with over 250 employees, employers are expected to contribute 30% (£864 per participant), while The Skills and Business Hub will fund the other 70%. Please note: all funding is subject to meeting full eligibility criteria

Module 1: Introduction to Management and Leadership


Introduction to Management and Leadership sets the foundation for the bootcamp by outlining what to expect from the programme and how to get the most from it. You’ll explore the difference between management and leadership, begin developing key skills such as communication and decision-making, and take part in interactive activities to identify your leadership style. This module also includes personal goal setting to help you stay focused on your development throughout the course

Module 2: Leadership Fundamentals 


Leadership Fundamentals explores the core principles of effective leadership, starting with the key differences between leadership and management. You’ll dive into various leadership styles and theories, gaining insight into how different approaches can influence team dynamics. The module also covers the importance of leading by example and developing strong self-awareness, with a focus on emotional intelligence and its role in building trust, motivating others, and creating a positive working environment.

Module 3: Team Dynamics


Team Dynamics focuses on understanding how teams develop, work together, and perform at their best. You’ll explore the stages of team development, the different roles individuals play within a team, and strategies for motivating others while effectively managing conflict. The module also highlights the importance of building a positive team culture where collaboration, trust, and shared purpose can thrive.

Module 4: Communication 


Communication equips you with the essential skills to communicate clearly, confidently, and effectively as a leader. You’ll explore both verbal and non-verbal communication, develop active listening and feedback techniques, and learn how to adapt your style to suit different individuals and situations. The module also covers how to approach difficult conversations with professionalism and care, along with practical tips to strengthen your presentation skills.

Delegation and Engaging Teams focuses on the art of effective delegation and how it can enhance team performance. You’ll learn what delegation really means, when it’s appropriate to delegate tasks, and how to overcome common barriers. The module also explores how to empower team members, encourage accountability, and create a motivated team environment by recognising and celebrating success.

Module 6: Developing and Managing Performance - Part 1


Developing and Managing Performance – Part 1 provides you with the tools to support individual and team growth through structured performance management. You’ll learn how to set clear, achievable SMART objectives, understand the stages of the performance management cycle, and practise giving constructive feedback. The module also covers how to monitor and measure performance effectively, as well as how to recognise and address underperformance with confidence and care.

Developing and Managing Performance – Part 2 builds on the previous module by focusing on coaching as a key tool for developing others. This final module encourages confidence, clarity, and a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
