Lessons Learnt

We introduced workshops at Southampton City Council for L2 and L3 learners and received very positive feedback. During Covid we set these up remotely.

We form very close partnerships with our counterparts in L&D or HR to ensure the best programme design, to share two-way feedback and resolve issues quickly

We take time upfront to understand each council’s priorities and unique culture so that we can deliver a programme that meets their needs.

Understanding of the structures, systems and protocols within local authorities, especially sign off protocols

Understanding Council equality policies and how they are driven internally
Understanding of Governance and decision making within Councils and time constraints that this can entail

We have honest and open conversations with all parties to ensure they understand the commitment involved including the requirement for 20% off the job training. We hold briefing sessions with line managers and mentors.

Guidance and support provided to mentors and managers to help them understand how they can support apprentices during their time on programme
