Level 3 Award in Education and Training 

This qualification is an introduction to teaching and training and has been developed to give candidates an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in teaching and learning.  
 
The course is designed as a "bespoke course" taking into consideration the "work time and home time" of a candidate. This supports your approach and achievement of the qualification. 
 
To achieve the Level 3 Award in Education & Training you must achieve a mandatory unit: Understanding the Roles, Responsibilities & Relationships in Education & Training (3 credits) and then a choice of optional units to reach a total of 12 units.  

Who is this course for? 

Candidates who work or want to work as teachers/trainers in the FE and skills sector. 
Candidates who are not in a teaching/training role or who have just started a teaching role. 
Those who want a short qualification to enable them to make career choices. 

How long does the course take? 

3 to 6 months 

Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training  

This qualification is to prepare you to teach/train in a wide range of contexts and develop your practical teaching skills.  
 
The course is designed as a bespoke course taking into consideration the "work time and home time" of a candidate. 
 
To achieve the Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training you must achieve a minimum of 36 credits: 21 from the mandatory units and 15 from the optional units, to reach a total of 36 credits.  

Who is this course for? 

This qualification is suitable for a range of candidates including: 
 
Candidates who are not currently teaching or training but who can meet the observed and assessed practice requirements of the qualification. 
Candidates who are currently teaching/training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed requirements of the qualification. 
Candidates currently working as Assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification. 
 
The objective of this qualification is to confirm occupational competence in a teaching role within the workplace. 

How long does this course take? 

3 to 6 months 

A1 Assessor (TAQA) Award Level 3 

This qualification provides a pathway for those who wish to understand assessment, qualify as an assessor and develop on to Education and Training qualifications.  
 
The course is designed as a bespoke course taking into consideration the "work time and home time" of a candidate.  
 
There are three units within this qualification and candidates will select the units that meet the requirements of what they are assessing. The first unit is Mandatory.  
 
Unit 1: Understanding the Principles of Assessment, this is a knowledge based unit for those who are starting the assessor role or those who have not started and wish to learn the assessment practice but are not currently practising. 
Unit 2: Assessing the Competence in the Work Environment, this is a practical based unit for those who assess skills in a vocationally related area using assessment methods such as: observations, witness statements, discussion, work products, oral questioning, learner statements and RPL.  
Unit 3: Assessing Vocational Achievement, this unit where you learn how to practically assess within a classroom environment using valid methods of assessment designed for classroom assessment.  

Who is this course for? 

Those who want to qualify as an assessor and develop on to Education & Training qualifications. 

How long does this course take?
